Dissolved oxygen sensors and meters are commonly used in various industries to measure the amount of oxygen present in a liquid, typically in water. Optical sensors are commonly used in aquaculture to measure DO. They are based on the principle of fluorescence, where the sensor contains a dye that fluoresces in response to oxygen. The intensity of the fluorescence is directly proportional to the concentration of dissolved oxygen. Optical sensors are very accurate, and they respond quickly to changes in DO levels. They are also very stable and require very little maintenance. However, they can be expensive compared to other types of sensors.

The DS380 series of fluorescent dissolved oxygen sensors use a new type of fluorescence lifetime technology and high-performance fluorescent materials. The fluorescent dissolved oxygen sensor is based on the quenching principle of the specific fluorescence of a specific substance in physics. Blue light from a light-emitting diode (LED) illuminates the fluorescent material on the inner surface of the fluorescent cap, and the fluorescent material on the inner surface is excited to emit red light by detecting the phase difference between red and blue light and the internal calibration value. The ratio is calculated to calculate the concentration of oxygen molecules, and the final value is automatically compensated by temperature and pressure.
